Christmas for many is a time of family celebration, decorations, story-telling and giving to charity, and we found a way to merge it all into a wonderful little package in time for the start of advent. In partnership with Oxfam we gave a handful of our favourite artists and bloggers a chance to turn a plain wooden box into a beautiful and unique advent calendar piece with a twist, and the results have been simply incredible. As we count down to Christmas, bid for the ParcelHero Advent Calendar below and open something special this December.
To win it, all you need to do is bid for it! Once done, you can smile sweetly to yourself with the knowledge that you have not only helped end poverty, as all proceeds will be donated to Oxfam, but also decorated your home with these wonderful crafty little delights! The auction will close on 26th November. Good luck!
Lets be naughty and open a few early…
From America, Ireland, Germany and the UK, our artists returned boxes that capture a different take on Christmas, decorated individually and complete with hidden trinkets, decorations and scenes. We gave no creative brief to our blogging community as we wanted something a little different for our very lucky winner to open everyday for advent.
Each box is very unique and contains a little gift from its respective artist and crafty-connoisseur. From a depiction of a Spacey Christmas figure from Berlin based artist Niels De Jong to a beautiful little sewing kit from Jenny Rohrs, this is a great excuse to gather the family before school or showcase to your friends; just stack them by the tree or line them up along the fireplace – you will win the competition for best decorated living room.
A word from Peter Hall at Oxfam: “A massive thanks to the Parcel Hero’s blogging community. Your creations will help change lives. We are so impressed with the amount of effort and creativity that has gone into the calendar boxes. Let’s hope they raise loads of funds to help Oxfam end poverty sooner! Happy bidding!”
