Can you name a hundred cities around the world? Do you know your Cardiffs from your Casablancas? Get ready for the most fiendish cryptic geography quiz on the internet and take the CurioCities challenge to win your place in our prestigious 100 Club.
ParcelHero ships all over the world, and we are pretty sure that we’ve visited a few places that you might not recognise. In fact, we’re so sure of our global chops that we’ve put together an exciting new type of quiz – but it’s not the sort of quiz you got from your geography teacher.
In fact, we’d go so far as to call it fiendishly difficult – but it is a lot of fun. It might look a bit strange at first glance, but don’t worry; once you’ve given it a go we’re sure that you’ll love it. Each and every part of our CurioCities image is a clue, leading to one of 100 famous global towns and cities. The only requirement for a place to be featured in our quiz is that it is home to more than 100,000 inhabitants.
To solve a clue, you just need to click on the image and enter the town or city you think that image refers to. Then you click “Guess”, and we’ll let you know whether or not you got it right. The clues are phonological, which means that they are often exactly the city that they sound like when said out loud. For example, if the image you’re looking at is a glass next to a green traffic light, the answer could be Glasgow (“Glass-go”). They’re not all that simple, so you might have to think outside the box.
If you get your guess right, that clue will be marked with a tick, so you can tell which cities you have yet to conquer. You can turn ticks on and off at the bottom of the quiz. CurioCities is something of a brain bender, so if you get all 100 clues correct your achievement will not go unrewarded. CurioCities completers get their name permanently entered into the 100 Club hall of fame.
Of course, since this is a difficult challenge, you don’t have to do it on your own: just like our customer support, we’re always on hand to help, so we will be dropping hints on our social media channels over the next few weeks. All you need to do to get the creative juices flowing is pay a quick visit to us on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest or Instagram.
Good luck and we’ll see you in the 100 Club!
