Clearing customs in Egypt

You will need to provide a customs invoice with your delivery to Egypt – this is something that ParcelHero will automatically generate by asking for various pieces of information as you make your booking. All you have to do is print off the relevant paperwork and attach it to the outside of the package before it is picked up. There will be duties and taxes levied on your package during the clearance process. ParcelHero cannot include these in the shipping costs as they are calculated and charged by the local customs authorities when the items enter the country.

What are Egypt's customs rules?

As with any country, Egypt has its own rules on what items can be sent into the country. It is important that you understand these before arranging your delivery – if you try to send a prohibited item then the local customs authorities may delay your parcel or destroy it. For example, among many other items you cannot send honey, electronic cigarettes, cameras or contact lenses into the country. To find out more, visit Egypt’s customs website. ParcelHero also has our own rules about Prohibited and Restricted items.
