Heroes walk amongst us unnoticed every day; selfless, giving and 100% genuine. Whether they’re helping friends, family, or members of their community, often they will ask for no recognition and seek no reward. Here at ParcelHero we want to help you give something back to your Everyday Heroes and award the good deeds they perform.
Help us find the Parcel Hero Everyday Hero 2015 and they could be jetting off around the world with a pair of flights to a destination of their choice.
We also have a selection of other great prizes for our top category winners, all they need is your nomination for a chance to win. So don’t delay, simply fill out the form on this page and tell us who you consider an Everyday Hero.
Anyone aged 18 or over! We have five categories of hero, so simply choose the one which best suits your hero. You can nominate multiple people for different categories, but not the same person for different categories (excluding the People’s Hero).
Do you know a Community Hero, Volunteer Hero, Sports Hero, Business Hero or People’s Hero? Then get nominating, check-out below for more details.
Do you know of a hero ready to be nominated? They could be a relative (do you have a supermum?), a friend, or someone in the community who goes above and beyond to make a difference to others. Simply nominate them using the form on this page for the ultimate hero experience, whether it’s a luxury spa-pampering or learning to be a spy!
Get your nomination in soon, as submissions close on November 22, 2015, after which our panel of judges will pick a winner from each category (excluding the People’s Hero), who deserves our heroic experience day.
You will also get the chance to pick a winner with our People’s Hero category, where the entry with the most votes when the competition closes will be named the winner. All entries will have the option to be included in this category, along with their main one.
An overall ParcelHero Everyday Hero 2015 will be selected from our category winners for our premium prize – two flights to a destination of their choosing.
This year’s contestant judges are:
A serial entrepreneur, with over 18 years’ experience running businesses in the UK and Ireland, Roger knows that it takes hard work and dedication to make a true hero. As he continues to build the success of ParcelHero, Roger is keen to support new businesses and other UK community leaders.
Peter is passionate about working with businesses to end poverty for good. Peter has 15 years experience working in the commercial and NGO sector, and is inching towards completing a masters degree in sustainability. When he's not looking after his kids, he can generally be found out and about on two wheels in rural Oxfordshire.
Susanna Scott is the Managing Director and Co-founder of Britmums. The organisation began life back in 2008 as a social network for parents network and share ideas. The social network has since grown from its humble beginnings to go on and become one of the UK’s leading websites centred on parenting.
Tom co-founded Sport 4 Life UK in 2006 to create a better future for disadvantaged young people by improving their employability and life skills. The charity achieves this through its award-winning sports-themed personal development programmes. Over the last 9 years, the charity has developed into the leading youth and sports charity across Birmingham. Tom is a big advocate of social change through sport.
This is a person whose sole ambition in life is to maintain that age-old community spirit that we all love. This could be through big deeds, such as organising local events, or rallying people together to deal with community problems. Or it could be in less visible ways, such as maintaining a patch of parkland, or being a pillar of support for those less advantaged. Your Community Hero can be paid for their work, but still go above and beyond with their actions.
Your Volunteer Hero is anyone who has given their time and effort without expecting anything in return. Whether it’s completing a gruelling marathon for charity, helping to build a local community centre in their free time, or spending their evenings visiting residents in sheltered accommodation, it’s time we gave your Volunteer Hero the reward they deserve.
Clad in that well-worn sporting outfit, probably being followed by a horde of screaming children towards the playing field, and never looking out of place with mud on their knees, your Sports Hero takes dedication to a new level. Whether they’re the leader of a community team, or they have overcome individual odds to achieve in the sport of their choice, your Sports Hero is the ultimate good sport.
From a small-business-owner who has worked tirelessly to build their brand to a fellow employee or manager who makes going to work every day that bit more pleasant - even the workplace needs a hero. Nominate your Business Hero to reward their hard work, passion or the fact they gave someone a chance to better themselves at work.
Your opportunity to have your say and decide on a hero who deserves to be recognised. The People’s Hero will be chosen by public vote and could come from any of the above categories. If you know someone who needs votes, don’t forget to spread the word to help them win.
