About Parcelforce courier services

Parcelforce is the parcel delivery arm of Royal Mail and one of the UK's biggest couriers. Operating from 54 depots, it ships over 7 million parcels a year, and its large UK network delivers next day to more of the country than most other couriers. That reach, combined with Post Office drop-off, makes it a dependable choice for UK and international sending.

Sending options

Parcelforce offers same-day booking and a pre-printed label service if you do not have a printer, so you can send even without printing labels at home. Drop off at over 10,000 Post Office locations across the UK, or book a home collection.

Collection & delivery

Parcelforce makes one collection attempt, so if it fails you will need to rebook, which is chargeable. It makes three delivery attempts if no one is home and, like most carriers, can deliver to a safe place. Every parcel is tracked door-to-door.

Size & weight limits

Send parcels up to 30kg. For bulky items, the Parcelforce 48 Large service carries loads up to 2.5m in length within the same 30kg limit.

UK express delivery:

  • Express 24: next-day UK delivery, with an AM option for time-sensitive shipments

  • Express 48: a more economical two-day option

UK large parcel delivery:

  • 48 Large: two-day service for bulky items up to 2.5m in length, within the 30kg weight limit

International delivery

  • GlobalExpress: one to three day delivery

  • GlobalPriority and GlobalValue: lower-cost options with longer transit

  • Delivered through local Post Offices, which can mean fewer delivery attempts abroad

What you can send with Parcelforce

Parcelforce carries most medicines, cosmetics and even alcohol, items that many carriers will not accept, alongside standard UK and international parcels.

As with any carrier, some items are restricted and some countries prohibit particular goods, so always check the prohibited list before shipping and confirm with the local customs authority if you are sending anything unusual.
