Clearing customs in the Caribbean

Each country and territory will have their own rules and regulations on what can and cannot be imported so it is always best to check with relevant customs authorities before you book.

Once you have placed your booking, Parcelhero will provide you with all the necessary documents required for your delivery to be completed including the customs invoice. This must be supplied with your parcel in order to clear customs. Parcelhero recommends printing off two copies, attaching one to the parcel and handing the other to the carrier upon collection.

Duties and taxes may be applied to your shipment and these charges are calculated and collected by the local customs authorities, therefore Parcelhero cannot include these costs in the price. If you have any questions about duties and taxes, our customer support portal has all the information you need.

Addresses in the Caribbean

Individual localities in the Caribbean will have different address formats, but there are some key points to keep in mind. Most importantly, you must ensure that the name of the Island you wish your parcel to be delivered to and the postal code you supply are correct. These will help our partner couriers find the correct address, even if some of the other details are not technically correct. An address in Jamaica:

Shipping to the Caribbean on holidays

With such wonderful weather, it should be no surprise that our partner carriers don't deliver on public holidays or weekends. If you’re shipping a gift or time sensitive package, keep in mind that delivery won’t be made on the weekend or public holidays when booking your shipment.
